Society Matters: Winter 2024

The future for housing: what will 2025 bring?

The final Society Matters of 2024 is focused on the future of the housing and mortgage markets. With a change in government came a renewed commitment to increase housing supply to support more people into homeownership. We hear from BSA members on self-build, alternative housing tenures, later life lending and lending to strengthen communities. The common message running through them all is that innovative thinking and alternative solutions are key to achieving housing and homeownership goals.

We also get some insight from outside of the sector with a housing market outlook, an update on the journey to reform the home buying process and some learnings from the green home loan markets in Europe.
