Our Annual Mortgage Meet-Up returns this September with a packed agenda.


This year's Annual Mortgage Meet-up returns with an in-person event held in London. The event will start with a market overview, looking at current key trends and things we need to think about for the future. This will be followed by insights from a political, policy and regulatory point of view with sessions on supporting people facing financial difficulty; a timely update on the green mortgage landscape; market and product innovation, AI and future foresight as well as the latest thoughts from the FCA. Panel sessions and fireside chats will provide an opportunity to ask lots of questions throughout.

The event will finish with informal networking drinks, sponsored by PEXA, which will provide an ideal opportunity for you to catch up with your colleagues.

The event is aimed at heads of lending, credit risk professionals, customer facing mortgage teams and anyone with an interest in the UK mortgage market.

Richard is a leading property industry figure best known for delivering insight and strategic advice on the residential and mortgage markets. During this session he will present market leading insights across emerging housing trends, housing development, mortgage lending and investment.

10:50 - 11:20    Insight into people in financial difficulty

Peter Tutton, Head of Policy, StepChange Debt Charity
Darren Furlong, Consultant at Arum
Peter will take us through the change he has seen over the last 18 months, including the difference in people that are coming through their door, how we need to consider a new strategy to support these customers and what's coming down the line to be aware of. Darren will moderate the session, as well as providing insight into to how members can prepare for PS24/2 to support customers in financial difficulty.

Rachael will provide an update on the green mortgage landscape. She and the other panellists will then discuss lenders’ processes and considerations in developing green propositions and potential future innovations in the market. Attendees are encouraged to share their own experiences in an interactive discussion.

James is a leading innovation and future foresight expert who will provide thought leadership around where a mortgage department needs to be focusing strategically, how to engage with the new generation to nurture and build those relationships and how building societies can navigate a crowded space with deep pockets..

Claire Cherrington, Head of Strategic Partnerships, Lloyds Banking Group
Sarah Johnson, Director of Lending, Hinckley & Rugby Building Society
Maria Harris, Chair, Open Property Data Association
Verdi from PEXA UK will set the scene on innovation in this landscape, with the other panellists discussing the opportunities and challenges. Hinckley & Rugby Building Society will share their personal experience of working with PEXA, with Maria Harris as the Chair of OPDA sharing her insight on what building societies can be doing to support a digital first customer journey. Claire Cherrington will offer a wider perspective of the opportunities in this area.
